BIOGRAPHY SHARON ESTES HENSON – A PHOTOGRAPHIC JOURNEY Photographer Sharon Henson’s work reflects intimacy with Nature’s natural subjects: Texas bluebonnets, Maine lighthouses and Colorado Mountains, Southern magnolias, pelicans, blue marlin and tuna and other elusive wild game animals including Whitetail deer and African safari and Argentina big game animals. Her portfolio contains a kaleidoscope of colorful sunsets, wildflowers, Purple martins, brown and white pelicans, Southern Magnolias, and Monarch butterflies.
Sharon’s favorite subjects include:
outdoor scenery, flora and fauna, hunting and fishing scenes, children,
animals, oceans, mountains, historical sites and national parks. The photographer enjoys the challenges of film and digital photography. Her varied collection of subjects may best be described as “forever records” – detailed recordings to capture the “essence” of her subjects. Sharon is also a freelance writer and her work has been published in numerous local and national magazines and newspapers such as: Safari Magazine, Rack Magazine, Extreme Wildlife, Louisiana Sportsman, Marline Magazine, Gulf Coast Outdoors, Mobile Bay Monthly, Alabama Game & Fish, National Bowhunter, Mobile Register News, Gulf Coast Newspapers and the Sun Herald Newspaper in Mississippi. Sharon for many years has been a feature and outdoor writer. She evacuated from Back Bay Biloxi to Round Rock, Texas in the fall of 2005 after Hurricane Katrina washed away her home, destroying everything - including her huge photo collection and hundreds of published stories. She now resides in Sun City in Georgetown, Texas and where she is a member of the active Photography Club.Other memberships include: POMA (Professional Outdoor Media Association), SEOPA (Southeastern Outdoor Press Association) and GCWA (Gulf Coast Writers’ Association) and SGWA (San Gabriel Writers’ League). |
